Renewable Energies in Peru: Lighting the Future of Rural Communities

On the road to a more sustainable and environmentally conscious future, the renewable energies have become a cornerstone of development for many countries. In the case of Peru, it is no different. In recent years, the Peruvian government has strengthened its commitment to clean energy, and the Parliamentary Energy Commission has taken an important step by approving a bill that promotes the use of renewable energy sources in the country.

The objective behind this initiative is clear: to guarantee a reliable, safe and efficient electricity supply with competitive rates for all users. In addition, it seeks to provide technical predictability in the operation of isolated systems, among other significant benefits for the country.

One of the key aspects of the government's plan is to advance the National Rural Electrification Plan. This strategy aims to reduce poverty and extreme poverty by providing basic electricity service to rural communities. To achieve this goal, a variety of technologies are being employed depending on the available energy sources, and within these, the photovoltaic systems have been highlighted as a priority in both individual and centralized installations.

In this context, one particular project stands out that has brought light and hope to a remote community: Fernando Rosas, located in the district of Morona, province of Datem del Marañón, department of Loreto. For years, this community faced the challenge of living without access to quality electricity supply 24 hours a day.

In order to change this situation and in line with the drive towards renewable energies, Tempel Group Perua company committed to the development of the country and at the forefront in clean energy projects, has participated in the implementation of a photovoltaic plant 24 kW in the community of Fernando Rosas.

The meticulously designed project consists of 54 solar panels of 550 Wp each, three solar controllers and three inverter/chargers to regulate and transform the energy generated. In addition, to ensure a constant and stable supply, a storage system consisting of 14 Lithium technology batteries of 48 V/100 Ah each has been incorporated. All this equipment is housed in two self-supporting outdoor shelters, designed with the latest technology and efficiently air-conditioned to guarantee optimum operation.

The estimated annual generation of this photovoltaic plant is 41.8 MWh, a figure that promises to radically change the lives of the inhabitants of Fernando Rosas. In addition, the positive environmental impact is evident, since, thanks to this system, the emission of approximately 23.78 tons of CO2 per year will be avoided, thus contributing to the reduction of the impact of climate change.

Tempel Group Peru's commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility is indisputable. Through this project and others like it, the company continues to demonstrate its ability to provide knowledge and experience in the implementation of renewable energy solutions that transform communities and enrich the lives of those who benefit from them.

Peru's energy future is looking brighter than ever, and it is thanks to the collaboration between the government, visionary companies like Tempel Group Peru and the commitment of local communities to embrace these clean and sustainable technologies. It is time to look forward to a country powered by the energy of the sun and wind, a country that walks towards sustainability and prosperity for all.
